Pet-Friendly Hotels at Atlanta Airport: Fees, Weight Limits and Where to Walk the Dog
Atlanta is a common stop for people driving the I-75 and I-85 corridors with a dog, and for the growing number flying with one, so it helps that eight of the twelve hotels on this site accept pets. The fees and weight limits differ enough to change the choice: a flat $75 at one hotel against $150 at another, a 35 lb cap at one and none at all at two. Here they are, checked on each hotel’s site in September 2026, with notes on how to get a pet from the terminal to the room.
No weight limit
The Sonesta Atlanta Airport South is the friendliest to big dogs: no breed or weight restriction, up to two pets per room, and a flat $75 fee for the stay. Its free shuttle runs on the hour from the hotel and there is a grass verge along Airport Boulevard for walks. The Holiday Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport North also sets no weight limit, for one pet per room at a non-refundable $100 a stay, with a 24-hour shuttle every 30 minutes and the lowest room rate on this site.
Up to 75 lb
The Hilton Atlanta Airport takes pets up to 75 lb for $75 a day, with a shuttle from 4 am to 2 am and the Virginia Avenue sidewalks for a walk. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Airport takes two pets up to 75 lb for $75 for stays of one to four nights ($125 for five or more), and the two-room suite gives a dog a room to itself while you eat the free breakfast. The AC Hotel Atlanta Airport Gateway is the pet-friendly hotel on the SkyTrain for larger dogs: two pets up to 75 lb for a $150 non-refundable fee per stay, and the walk from the Gateway Center station along Hospitality Way doubles as the first toilet stop.
Up to 50 lb and under
The Hotel Indigo Atlanta Airport College Park takes two pets up to 50 lb for $50 per pet per day, capped at $150 per pet, with a $50 deposit, and its setting in historic College Park has proper streets and a park nearby for walking, plus a 24-hour shuttle and a MARTA station a block away. The Westin Atlanta Airport takes dogs, cats, birds and fish up to 40 lb, two per room, at $50 a night with a $150 cap per stay, and is the only full-service hotel here that allows pets; its shuttle runs all night. The SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway takes two pets up to 35 lb for $20 a day plus a $100 cleaning fee, which makes it the cheapest SkyTrain option for a small dog on a one-night stay.
No pets
The Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway and the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport state that pets are not accepted, and the Atlanta Airport Marriott does not publish a policy; treat it as no unless the hotel says otherwise when you call. Service animals are accepted at every hotel under the Americans with Disabilities Act, without fees; emotional-support animals are treated as pets by the hotels above.
From the terminal to the hotel with a pet
ATL has indoor animal relief rooms inside security on every concourse (near gates T7, A10, B33, C17, D Centerpoint, E15 and F7), an outdoor relief area outside door A1 at the International Terminal, and Poochie Park, a fenced 1,000-square-foot dog park with bags and benches just outside doors W1 and W2 at the Domestic Terminal, which is exactly where the SkyTrain and the hotel shuttles start. The SkyTrain carries pets on a lead or in a carrier, which makes the AC Hotel and the SpringHill Suites the easiest to reach: two minutes on the train and a short walk, with nobody to ask. Hotel shuttles generally carry pets in a carrier and often a leashed dog, but the driver has the final say, so call the hotel before you land and, at the Ground Transportation Center, tell the dispatcher you have an animal. Atlanta taxis are allowed to refuse pets; Uber Pet and Lyft’s pet option are the dependable fallback, from the North Economy lot at the Domestic Terminal. Our SkyTrain and hotel shuttles guide has the pick-up points, and the parking guide covers the park-and-fly packages for anyone leaving a car and a dog-sitter behind. Travelling with children too? Frequently Asked Questions
Which Atlanta airport hotels allow pets?
Eight of the twelve on this site: Sonesta Atlanta Airport South (no breed or weight limit, $75 a stay), The Westin Atlanta Airport ($50 a night to $150 a stay, 40 lb), Hilton Atlanta Airport ($75 a day, 75 lb), Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Airport ($75 for one to four nights, 75 lb), AC Hotel Atlanta Airport Gateway ($150 a stay, 75 lb), SpringHill Suites Atlanta Airport Gateway ($20 a day plus $100 cleaning fee, 35 lb), Holiday Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport North ($100 a stay, no weight limit, one pet) and Hotel Indigo Atlanta Airport College Park ($50 per pet per day to $150, 50 lb).
Which airport hotels do not take pets?
The Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, the Renaissance Atlanta Airport Gateway and the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport do not accept pets, and the Atlanta Airport Marriott does not publish a pet policy, so assume no unless the hotel confirms. Service animals are accepted everywhere by law.
Which hotel is best for a large dog?
The Sonesta Atlanta Airport South, which has no breed or weight limit and charges a flat $75 a stay for up to two pets, or the Holiday Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport North, which has no weight limit for one pet at $100 a stay. Most other hotels cap pets at 35 to 75 lb.
Can I take a dog on the SkyTrain or the hotel shuttle?
The SkyTrain carries pets in carriers or on a lead like any other passenger, so the AC Hotel and SpringHill Suites at the Gateway Center are reached without asking anyone. Hotel shuttles generally take pets in a carrier; call the hotel before your flight to confirm, since drivers can refuse a loose dog. Taxis at ATL may decline animals; rideshare drivers decide individually, so Uber Pet is the reliable option.
